Quebecor introduces ad synchronization service
By Adnews Staff
Quebecor of Montreal has launched a new service that allows advertisers to automatically synchronize their digital advertising with the air times of their television commercials. According to the company, this is the first service of its kind in Quebec. The system can be used in two situations. First, it can synchronize search engine marketing and automatically adjust bids after a commercial airs on TV to enhance the performance of keyword campaigns. Second, advertisers can adjust campaigns to run digital banner ads on any of Quebecor’s 59 websites and mobile applications after their TV commercials have aired.
“This new tool that we’re adding to the Quebecor ID product family is really a response to Quebecers’ media-consumption habits,” said Jean-Sébastien Prénovost, data and programmatic director at Quebecor. “The numbers tell the story. Sixty-five percent of people use their smartphones while watching television, and after seeing a television commercial two out of five people do online searches related to the advertised product, service or brand. By combining a television campaign with a digital one, you can increase unaided brand awareness by 211% lift ROI by 60%.”
