Kia begins national food banks initiative
By Adnews Staff
Automaker Kia Canada has begun an initiative called “Power To Give” in support of Food Banks Canada. Through this national program, Kia will provide vehicles and funds to the organization. Kia will lend a collection of new vehicles, including the Sportage, Soul and Telluride, to food banks in Toronto and Vancouver to use in the delivery of food packages to vulnerable consumers. The company will also donate $200,000 to Food Banks Canada and institute a program through which Kia dealers will support local food banks. The initiative is being promoted with an online video and web-based content at <http://www.kia.ca/powertogive>.
“We’ve moved Canadians with safety and confidence for more than 20 years,” said Elias El-Achhab, chief operating officer at Kia Canada. “Our ‘Power To Give’ partnership with Food Banks Canada and its 3,000 food banks and community agencies across the country will help put our team, our resources, and our vehicles to important work feeding Canadians in this time of need.”
