Fast food chain Harvey's and sports equipment maker Bauer Hockey have begun a joint initiative in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the initiative, consumers who place an order at a Harvey's drive-though location will pay using a payment machine attached to the end of a Bauer hockey stick. The intent is to maintain the recommended safe distance between the consumer and the store employee. In addition, part of the the proceeds from all drive-through sales during the effort will be donated to Food Banks Canada.
“Only in Canada would we use our iconic hockey sticks to ensure everyone stays safe at a physical distance while buying their Harvey's burgers,” said David Colebrook, chief operating officer at Harvey's Canada. “It's a creative and fun solution to a challenging issue, and it ensures we can keep feeding Canadians through our restaurants and food banks.”
