Toys R Us launches Stay-at-Home Play Initiative

Retail chain Toys R Us Canada has begun a new program called the “Stay-at-Home Play Initiative” intended to help families stay engaged while remaining at home. The program includes a series of Stay-At-Home Play Packs aimed at young children and available exclusively online. The packages consists of products focusing on art, building and gaming. These are accompanied by a component on social media site TikTok called the “Wash Your Hands Challenge,” as well as a series of YouTube videos featuring the chain’s spokescharacter Geoffrey, who will present a variety of free child and family play ideas.
“We hope to help make this time at home a little easier for Canadian families,” said Vic Bertrand, president and CEO of Toys R Us Canada. “It’s important to see this COVID-19 crisis through the eyes of a child and remember that play and having fun together is more important than ever.”
