The Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice conducted an event in Toronto yesterday intended to counter misconceptions about Chinese Canadians resulting from the COVID-19 virus. Called “Stop the Spread,” the event took place at Nathan Phillips Square. It included promotional workers distributing hand sanitizer samples displaying copy such as “Protects against toxic behavior,” “Works best with common sense,” and “Keep (intolerance) away from children.” The promotion also includes a website at <http://www.stopthespread.ca>. The initiative was developed in association with The Hive of Toronto.
