Toronto Santa Claus Parade hires McCann

The Toronto Santa Claus Parade has retained McCann Canada as its communications agency of record. McCann won the account in a competitive review process. The assignment includes brand communications and social media activities for the 2019 parade, which will take place on Nov. 17, to be followed next year by a full marketing campaign for the 2020 parade. In addition, Dustin Rideout, chief strategy officer at McCann, will join the board of directors of the parade.
“We are absolutely thrilled to be chosen as the agency that will bring Santa’s vision for the parade to life,” said Ryan Timms, president of McCann Canada. “It’s the pinnacle of wins for us. Throughout the pitch process, we really felt like we were on the same page with the elves, who will act as our day to day client. Santa truly does know if you’ve been bad or good, so you have to be good for goodness sake.”
