Jan Kelley, a marketing agency based in Burlington, ON, has changed ownership. The firm is now owned by a group of its employees consisting of president and CEO Chantel Broten, vice-president of customer innovation Shannon Ballard, creative director Geoff Redwood and vice-president of digital strategy Josiah Shelley. The group purchased the company from previous co-owners Jim Letwin and Ken Nicholson, as well as a minority stake held by WPP. According to the new owners, the company will operate as a fully-independent agency.
“This progressive evolution of Jan Kelley ownership is of great benefit to both clients and the agency team,” said Letwin, who has become executive chairman of the company. “Jan Kelley is now owned and led by a dynamic team of experienced, innovative and digitally driven individuals who have also lived and shaped the values that are at the heart of our business growth and success.”
Jan Kelley was formed in 2001 with the merger of JAN Marketing, founded in 1948, and Kelley Advertising, founded in 1913. Its clients include the FirstOntario Credit Union, Sheridan College, Rockwool, Toyota Materials Handling and Revera Retirement Living, among others.
