First Alert, CVFSA begin promotion
By Adnews Staff
First Alert and the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association have begun a joint promotion intended to raise awareness of fire and carbon monoxide safety. The effort encourages consumers to install new smoke and CO detectors in each room of their homes every ten years and to replace their batteries every six months. As part of the initiative, First Alert will donate a supply of smoke and CO detectors to local volunteer fire services nationally for community distribution. First Alert is a division of BRK Brands, which is a subsidiary of Newell Brands.
“There is no question that smoke and CO alarms help save lives,” said Tarsila Wey, director of marketing at First Alert. “So many tragedies could be prevented with proper placement, number and regular maintenance of working smoke and CO alarms. We are proud to partner with the CVFSA and provide support for the volunteer firefighters across the country who are committed to keeping their communities safe from the threats on fire and CO.”
