Vans readies Checkerboard Day promotion

Athletic apparel brand Vans will conduct a promotion called “Vans Checkerboard Day” on Nov. 21. The promotion is intended to be an annual event that will “champion and inspire creative expression globally.” As part of the international initiative, the company will donate $1 million from sales at its retail locations and online store to Imagination.org. The promotion will also include consumer activities and special events, as well as a website at <http://www.vans.ca/checkerboardday>.
“Vans Checkerboard Day is an opportunity for us to put a stake in the ground and rally our internal team, our extended Vans family and our fans around the world to come together to celebrate creative expression and make a difference in the lives of our youth,” said Doug Palladini, global brand president at Vans. “Imagination.org is the perfect partner to spark a global movement to empower our youth by harnessing everyday creativity to create a brighter future.”
