Destination Ontario begins international student promotion

Tourism organization Destination Ontario has begun a promotion at Toronto Pearson International Airport aimed at newly-arriving international students. The initiative will be conducted in association with 15 Ontario colleges, four universities and six municipalities. During the promotion, kiosks will be installed in Terminal One and Three of the airport to provide orientation information to new student arrivals, to assist with the arrangement of transportation and accommodation, and to provide free telephone calls home. The intent of the program is to encourage international students to remain in the province. The kiosks will be staffed seven days a week between August 12 and September 8, and again between late December and mid-January.
