The Argyle Group of Toronto has purchased an ownership stake in Matchstick, a digital and social media marketing agency also based in Toronto. Matchstick will retain its existing brand and will continue to be headed by co-founders Patrick Thoburn and Matthew Stradiotto. As part of the deal, Argyle will expand the office of its public relations division Argyle Public Relationships to also house the staff of Matchstick. Matchstick’s client list includes Beam Suntory, Johnsonville, BentallGreenOak and General Electric, among others.
“The combination of Matchstick's skills in building social brands with Argyle's full suite of services in public engagement, communications and social marketing creates a powerful opportunity for integrated, cross-platform communication,” said Thoburn.
