Tim Hortons will conduct a promotion in association with Special Olympics Canada on July 20. On that day, the chain will introduce for a limited time a Special Olympics donut to coincide with a commemorative Global Day of Inclusion. Proceeds from sales of the donut will be donated to Special Olympics Canada. The donut was developed by a Special Olympics athlete and was selected from approximately 400 submissions. The promotion will also include social media activities. Consumers who post a picture of a Special Olympics donut online using a campaign hashtag will be entered into a draw for a Tim Hortons gift cards.
“Community is at the heart of who we are as a brand at Tim Hortons,” said Alex Macedo, president of Tim Hortons. “We're proud of the role our restaurant owners play in communities and are thrilled to be working with an organization that shares our core value of inclusion. This year is our second year working with Special Olympics Canada to support Global Day of Inclusion and we hope that together we can inspire our guests to recognize the power of inclusion through sport and continue to foster communities where everyone is welcome.”
