Ontario Nurses' Association conducts newspaper campaign

The Toronto-based Ontario Nurses' Association has begun an advertising campaign in that province called “Priorities and Promises.” The effort is intended to raise awareness of possible changes to the provincial health care system by the Government of Ontario. It also encourages consumers to contact their representatives to provide their views. The campaign consists of newspaper advertising and will run for several weeks.
“Doug Ford's Conservatives are charging into the biggest unravelling of health care we've seen in decades, but we still don't have any real details,” said association president Vicki McKenna. “Our hospitals are being forced to cut staff, cut registered nurses. We're losing skilled nurses, and that's bad for patients. If this is how the government intends to handle health care, they're going to be hearing a lot more from us. This campaign is just the beginning.”
