KFC Canada begins Raised by a Canadian Farmer campaign

Fast food chain KFC Canada has begun a branding initiative in association with Chicken Farmers of Canada. The chain will now include a seal in its stores and on its product packaging displaying the message “Raised by a Canadian Farmer” to indicate the source of its chicken. The effort also includes social media activities. According to the company, the program is intended to highlight its commitment to animal welfare, food safety and sustainability.
“KFC Canada appreciates that Canadian consumers not only have a vested interest in where their food comes from, but the values in which a restaurant upholds,” said Nivera Wallani, president and general manager of KFC Canada. “KFC is famous for our taste, but we've equally always been dedicated to the chicken we serve. We're excited to partner with Chicken Farmers of Canada in the ‘Raised by a Canadian Farmer’ branding program as it signifies the quality, passion and commitment of Canadian chicken farmers.”
