MS Society of Canada conducts Acts of Greatness campaign

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada has begun an awareness campaign called “Acts of Greatness,” timed to coincide with Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month. The initiative consists of five-metre-long decals placed in cities including Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. The decals are intended to convey that, to a person with multiple sclerosis, five metres can feel like 500 metres. Each installation will be accompanied by promotional workers who will distribute information about the disease and encourage donations by text message. The effort also includes a website at <http://www.actsofgreatness.ca> and social media activities. The campaign will run for a week, ending May 30.
“For Canadians living with MS who face mobility issues or experience fatigue, just walking five metres can sometimes feel like so much more,” said Pamela Valentine, president and CEO of the society. “Through this demonstration, we hope to illustrate the reality of many individuals living with MS and raise awareness about the acts of greatness, both big and small, that they perform every day.”
