Walmart Canada has announced a plan to implement $200 million in upgrades to 31 of its stores, intended to improve the customer experience. As part of these upgrades, the company will expand its fresh food Supercentre format to additions locations. It will also work to improve the process of ordering products online via Walmart.ca and picking them up at a local store. Updated stores will also feature a modified colour palette, new signage and other efforts intended to make the locations “fun and engaging.”
“Our store network is a key advantage in our ability to best serve the changing needs of our customers,” said Lee Tappenden, president and CEO of Walmart Canada. “1.2 million customers in Canada choose to shop in our stores every day and we are focused on making their experience easy, enjoyable and convenient while seamlessly integrating our e-commerce business.”
