The Toronto-based Building Industry and Land Development Association has begun a campaign called “Building Answers” intended to raise awareness of issues related to real estate development in the city. Developed by Republic, the campaign includes out-of-home, digital, print and radio advertising, accompanied by social media activities, public relations and a website at <http://www.buildinganswers.ca>. It will run for six weeks across the Greater Toronto Area with the intent of informing residents of the city about how the development industry works. The creative offers answers to consumer questions gathered in a public opinion poll.
“With 115,000 new people calling the GTA their home every year and the population expected to grow by 40 per cent to 9.7 million by 2041, development and housing construction is highly visible throughout the region,” said David Wilkes, president and CEO of the association. “It’s natural for residents to have questions and want to understand the changes they are seeing in and around their communities. The ‘Building Answers’ campaign will allow the industry to engage as many people as possible and answer as many questions as possible. When you allow people to be part of the discussion and share information, you allow them to be part of the solution.”
