McDonald's readies Snapplications initiative
By Adnews Staff
McDonald’s Canada is preparing an initiative called “Snapplications” in collaboration with social media service Snapchat. During the one-day promotion, which will take place on March 27, job seekers will be invited to apply for employment at McDonald's restaurants via the Snapchat mobile application. Consumers will be able to use a custom filter to submit a 30-second video of themselves describing why they want to work for the company. The videos will be submitted to the McDonald's Canada hiring website. According to the company, this is the first time this type of initiative has been undertaken in Canada.
“We wanted to offer a convenient and flexible application process to attract more young people through our one-day virtual hiring event,” said Stephanie Hardman, chief people officer at McDonald’s Canada. “From youth applying for their first jobs, to experienced candidates, ‘Snapplications’ is a new and exciting way for people to kick-start a career at McDonald’s Canada.”
