New commissioner at Competition Bureau

The Government of Canada has appointed Matthew Boswell to the position of Commissioner of Competition for a term of five years. He has been the interim commissioner since May 2018. Prior to that, Boswell was a senior deputy commissioner at the Competition Bureau. He was also a senior litigation counsel in the enforcement branch at the Ontario Securities Commission and an assistant Crown attorney in Toronto.
