Consumer goods company Newell Brands has retained WPP of New York as its global marketing agency. WPP won the account in a review recently conducted by Newell of some of its agencies. WPP subsidiary J. Walter Thompson has been the company's lead agency since 2016. Additional subsidiaries Geometry, Mindshare and Eicoff will now conduct Newell's shopper marketing, media management and direct response television advertising, while Wunderman Thompson will handle digital work and VMLY&R will manage social media activities. Newell also makes use of the agencies BCW and Superunion.
"We are delighted to have expanded our relationship with such a valued client, and to support Newell with our simple, integrated offer that harnesses the full power of WPP for clients," said Mark Read, CEO of WPP.
Newell Brands produces consumer products under the brand names Paper Mate, Sharpie, Dymo, Expo, Parker, Elmer's, Coleman, Marmot, Oster, Sunbeam, FoodSaver, Mr. Coffee, Graco, Baby Jogger, Nuk, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Contigo, First Alert and Yankee Candle.
