Avon begins digital marketing initiative

Montreal-based cosmetics company Avon Canada has begun a new digital marketing initiative that focuses on online stores, social media activities and influencer relations. According to the company, the initiative is intended to provide consumers with a "contemporary digital experience."

"We've introduced a new way for a new era," said Goran Petrovic, president of Avon Canada. "The Avon lady has transitioned from a door-to-door seller to a digitally-enabled, social selling influencer. We've digitally mobilized our army of micro-influencers so they can share and promote their business anytime, anywhere, with no limits. Ninety-eight per cent of our representatives are online in some capacity, so we're giving them all the tools they need to be social entrepreneurs and we're educating them on how to lever the digital world to grow their business."
