Crayola conducts Thank A Teacher Day promotion
By Adnews Staff
Crayola Canada of Lindsay, ON has begun a promotion called "Thank A Teacher Day." The national initiative encourages consumers to thank teachers for their commitment to students and learning. Consumers can submit their thanks via social media or a website at <http://www.crayola.ca/thankateacher>. The promotion also encourages participants to submit personal stories of how teachers have inspired them. Crayola Canada employees will visit 35 Canadian schools to deliver gift packages including $250 worth of Crayola supplies and a gift certificate.
The effort also includes a contest component that invites children to submit hand-made thank-you cards for teachers. The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 classroom makeover for the teacher, a one year supply of Crayola products for the school, a $1,000 scholarship for the student and a $1,000 gift card for both the teacher and school. The contest will run from July 14 to Sept. 7. In addition, eight weekly winners will receive $250 gift cards for themselves and their teachers.
"Teachers have been a core part of Crayola's heritage since the early 1900s, and we can't think of a better way to celebrate Crayola's 115th birthday than paying homage to our legacy and honouring teachers for all that they do," said Margot Somerville, director of product marketing and communications at Crayola Canada. "At Crayola, we admire the passion and commitment of our nation's teachers in helping young minds grow and unleashing the power of creativity. Today and every day, we commend and celebrate teachers and invite Canadians to join us in saying thank you."
