Statistics Canada readies national cannabis survey
Ottawa-based Statistics Canada is preparing to conduct a national survey intended to provide a better understanding of cannabis use in Canada. The "National Cannabis Survey" is part of a larger initiative that aims to track the impact of the legalization of non-medical cannabis, which could come into effect later this year. Each quarter, 12,000 households will receive an invitation to confidentially complete the 21-question online survey. It will address topics including frequency of use, amount and types of product consumed, and prices paid. Participants will also be asked about changes in their behaviour or consumption patterns.
