Air Miles increases point redemption cap

Toronto-based loyalty program Air Miles has increased the daily cap for in-store cash redemptions of its its points to $750 per account per day. This represents 7,125 points. The cap for redemptions at Shell gas stations remains $60 per transaction for up to five transactions per day. Gift cards and non-cash products continue to be excluded. In addition, the company will no longer require the physical presence of an Air Miles card to redeem points at participating retail locations equipped for digital processing. According to the company, the changes are intended to make the redemption of points for convenient for consumers.

"Air Miles is dedicated to making the reward experience as seamless as possible for all collectors," said Blair Cameron, president of the program. "The increased cap will enable them to use Cash Miles for bigger purchases at participating partner locations, ultimately giving them greater flexibility and choice when making Air Miles cash redemptions in-store."
