Corus begins three-year promotion with RBC

Corus Entertainment has begun a three-year promotional agreement with the Royal Bank of Canada and HGTV Canada personalities Bryan and Sarah Baeumler. According to the companies, the intent of the initiative is to provide financial and practical advice on various subjects such as budgeting for home renovations.
It will begin on Jan 14 with a contest promotion called "RBC Home Someday," to coincide with the premiere of the new season of HGTV Canada show Bryan Inc. Consumers can enter the contest online at <http://www.hgtv.ca/rbchome> by submitting a personal story relating to home ownership. The grand prize winner will receive $25,000 and a consultation with the Baeumlers. Two secondary winners will receive prozes of $10,000. The contest will close on Feb. 28.
Promotional elements will appear on Corus television and online properties including HGTV Canada, Global Television, DIY and DejaView in broadcast and online. In the spring, HGTV.ca will host a series of branded videos. The agreement also includes social media activities and other components.
The agreement is the first of its kind for Corus Entertainment subsidiary Corus Tempo and was negotiated by RBC media agency Initiative.
