LG Electronics readies ThinQ branding effort

Toronto-based LG Electronics Canada is preparing to introduce a new brand initiative called ThinQ. The brand will be used to identify the company's 2018 line of home appliances, consumer electronics and services using artificial intelligence technology. According to the company, ThinQ products will use "deep learning" to analyze input from voice commands, cameras and other sensors. They will also communicate with each other and with additional compatible systems.

"The purpose of the ThinQ brand is to highlight that LG intelligent products are always thinking of you in order to make your life better," said Han Chang-hee, head of the global marketing centre at LG. "AI is the next frontier in technology and as a leader in home appliances and consumer electronics, we have a responsibility to make AI more approachable and less intimidating."
