Mars Canada readies Skittles Holiday Pawn Shop promotion

Candy company Mars Canada is preparing to resume its "Skittles Holiday Pawn Shop" promotion for a third year. The effort makes use of a temporary retail location in Toronto at which consumers can exchange unwanted holiday gifts for Skittles. According to the company, this year will represent the end of the promotion. The store will therefore conduct a "going out of business sale" during which it will offer two, three or four times the amount of candy for gifts compared to previous years. The promotion will run from Dec. 26 to 29. Items exchanged will be donated to United Way Toronto and York Region.
"It's bittersweet news to deliver before the holidays, but fear not, Canadians will have one last chance to trade all those unwanted holiday gifts for something they really want, Skittles candy," said Laura Amantea, marketing director for Skittles. "We are going out with a bang because we know this store is held close to the hearts of Torontonians. The 'Skittles Holiday Pawn Shop' will be doling out the best Skittles deals our fans have ever seen, and will never see again."
