MADD Canada, Uber begin holiday campaign

Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada and Uber Canada have begun a joint awareness and fundraising initiative intended to promote sober driving during the holiday season. During the campaign, which will run until the end of the year, Uber will make a one dollar donation to MADD for each "compliment" a customer sends to an Uber driver via the company's mobile application. According to Uber, the effort is intended to recognize the work of its drivers in providing a safe transportation alternative. The initiative is part of a long-term collaboration between MADD Canada and Uber Canada that began in February.
MADD Canada has also released a new public service announcement which encourages consumers to consider how their decisions may have an impact on others.
"This PSA shows the profound impacts that choosing to drive impaired can have on the ones we care about," said MADD Canada CEO Andrew Murie. "Having safe, convenient and accessible transportation options is critical, which is why we are so excited to partner with Uber to help reinforce this important message."
