World Vision Canada begins Carve A Heart campaign

Charitable organization World Vision Canada has begun a Halloween-themed social media campaign called "Carve A Heart." The initiative encourages consumers to carve a heart into a pumpkin and post an image of it online in an effort to raise awareness of vulnerable children. The organization has released a series of three stencils which participants can use to mark out a heart shape. The campaign also encourages consumers to donate to the organization via text message.
"Last year, we saw Canadians from coast to coast show their support and raise awareness for families living in difficult circumstances by carving a heart in their pumpkin," said World Vision spokesperson Megan Radford de Barrientos. "We're excited to see this initiative grow as more families and friends take part."
