Spotlight Agency launches in Toronto

A new firm called The Spotlight Agency has opened in Toronto. It was founded by Farah Perelmuter and Martin Perelmuter, co-founders of the Toronto-based Speakers' Spotlight. The agency will focus on clients seeking celebrities for marketing and endorsement activities. The firm represents personalities from the television, music, sports, food, fashion and decor sectors. These personalities will be available for spokesperson roles, social media activities and other promotional initiatives.

"With the ever-growing need from brands and PR and advertising agencies to couple their products and services with the trust and influence that celebrities bring, the time was right to create an agency dedicated exclusively to this burgeoning market," said agency president Sundance Filardi.

Participating celebrities include astronaut Chris Hadfield, chef David Rocco, television personalities Scott McGillivray, Jessica Mulroney, Tracy Moore and Jessi Cruickshank, and football player Michael Clemons. Clients of The Spotlight Agency include Procter & Gamble, Barilla, Metro, Manulife, Best Buy, Google, Microsoft and Ikea.
