Hockey Hall of Fame retains McCann

The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto has hired McCann Canada as its marketing and communications agency in this country. The agency's first work for the hall is a campaign promoting its NHL centennial exhibit. The campaign, called "Real Reality," consists of a 30-second video running on English-language sports and specialty television channels in Canada and on the NHL network in the US. This will be followed by digital and cinema advertising, arena signage and related materials. The effort will run into the fall.

"We wanted an agency partner who was not only a top player in the industry but also had a true passion and understanding for sports, particularly hockey," said Peter Jagla, vice-president of marketing and attraction services at the Hockey Hall of Fame. "McCann had the right mix of talent and sports knowledge that we were looking for and the partnership made perfect sense.  We are thrilled with the 'Real Reality' campaign and can't wait to see what's next."
