Newcap to acquire NL Broadcasting

Dartmouth-based radio company Newcap has entered into an agreement to aquire NL Broadcasting of Kamloops, BC. NL operates three radio stations in that city: CHNL-AM, CJKC-FM, and CKRV-FM. The deal remains subject to approval by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. Newcap is a subsidiary of Newfoundland Capital Corporation.

"We are excited about the opportunity to enter the Kamloops market, where these stations already have a strong presence in the community," said Rob Steele, president and CEO of Newcap.  "This acquisition continues to expand our presence in British Columbia and fits well with our current operations in Vancouver and the Okanagan Valley."
