Calgary-based airline WestJet has begun a new advertising campaign timed to coincide with the start of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball season. The campaign, developed by Studio M, consists of four television commercials featuring Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez. In the ads, Sanchez highlights the airline's loyalty program, its customer service, its area of coverage and its ecomony service. The ads will air on Sportsnet during broadcasts of Toronto Blue Jays games through the baseball season. WestJet has been a sponsor of the Blue Jays since 2012.
"WestJet has many advantages over other airlines and we found an engaging, fun and impactful way to communicate them," said Richard Bartrem, vice-president of marketing and communications at WestJet. "Working with such a quintessentially Canadian brand as the Toronto Blue Jays, along with the caring and talented Aaron Sanchez, has created a campaign that really underlines how travel is better with WestJet."
