Magazines Canada resumes Magazine Moment campaign

Toronto-based Magazines Canada has begun a new phase of its "Magazine Moment" campaign, intended to promote newsstand sales of Canadian magazines. The initiative includes a contest, a third online video and advertising components.
The contest invites consumers to submit descriptions of their favourite magazine reading occasions at <http://www.canadasmagazinestore.ca/contest> to be entered into a draw for $13,000 in prizes. Contest sponsors Roots Canada and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, among others, will award three winners trips to Calgary, Toronto or Quebec City, along with Roots gift cards.
Print and digital ads will run in participating member publications, accompanied by social media activities. Point-of-sale support includes videos, signage, posters and on-shelf cards. Participating retailers include Gateway, Chapters Indigo, Presse Commerce, Atlantic News and McNally Robinson. Transit advertising will also run in some markets.
The video was produced in collaboration with K9 Strategy & Design and a number of Ontario filmmakers. Additional sponsors of the contest include Theatre Calgary, Telus Spark, Round the Block Tours, Fashion Magazine, Province Apothecary, Champlain Restaurant, Cyclo Services, Canyon Sainte-Anne and Projet Vertical.
