PepsiCo conducts Pepsi Spire promotion with Subway

PepsiCo Canada of Mississauga has begun a promotion in association with restaurant chain Subway Canada to promote its Pepsi Spire beverage dispensers. The initiative involves an online video featuring professional hockey player Brent Burns. The video was shot at a Subway location in Quebec, where Burns appeared on the touchscreen of the dispenser to help consumers mix custom beverages using the machine.
The Pepsi Spire is an interactive "beverage fountain" that allows users to create mixtures of Mountain Dew, Pepsi or Brisk Iced Tea, along with lemon, vanilla and cherry flavours. Subway is the exclusive user of these machines in Canada.
"I'm a huge fan of the Pepsi Spire machine at Subway restaurants," said Burns. "I like to think of myself as a unique guy, and Spire lets me add my own personal touch to my beverage. I also love the element of surprise, and got a big kick out of seeing how Canadians responded. It has been cool to interact with Subway guests via the Pepsi Spire machine. I'm having a blast doing it, and the reactions were priceless."
