Ronald McDonald House conducts Gratitude Number promotion

Ronald McDonald House Charities has begun a holiday season promotion called the "Gratitude Number." The online fundraising initiative is based on a website at <>. Visitors to the site are invited to submit a photograph of their families in order to receive a "gratitude number" based on the ages of their family members. Visitors are then encouraged to share the image on social media sites in an effort to attract donations equal to that number. According to the organization, the intent is to demonstrate that the most highly-valued holiday gift among Canadians is the ability to spend time with their families.

"Quality time together as a family allows all of us to pause and connect during an often busy and sometimes stressful holiday season," said Cathy Loblaw, president and CEO of the charity. "For our families staying at a Ronald McDonald House, that time together is even more precious and important when you have a sick child being treated at a nearby hospital."
