Samsung begins Be Fearless VR promotion
By Adnews Staff
Samsung Electronics Canada has begun a promotion called "Be Fearless" in support of its Galaxy GS7 smartphone and Gear VR virtual reality headset. The four-week initiative, developed in collaboration with Facebook and its Oculus VR subsidiary, consists of two virtual reality experiences intended to help users gradually overcome a fear of heights or a fear of public speaking. The programs present a series of scenarios designed to accustom the user to greater heights or larger audiences over a period of time. The free software can be downloaded from the Oculus Gear VR store. Demonstrations of the programs are also available at Samsung Experience stores nationally.
"As part of our ongoing commitment to make a difference in our connected lives, we believe the immersive VR innovation behind 'Be Fearless' can empower many of us to master our fears," said Mark Childs, chief marketing officer at Samsung Canada. "We hope this inspires Canadians to experience the global movement. Following its success in Europe, Russia and the United Arab Emirates, we're proud to join eight other countries to help even more people realize their full potential."
