New chief marketing officer at Manulife

Manulife Financial of Toronto has appointed Gretchen Garrigues to the position of executive vice-president and global chief marketing officer. She will be responsible for the company's global marketing and communications. Garrigues was most recently chief marketing officer at First Data. Prior to that, she held a series of positions at GE Capital, culminating in the post of senior managing director of global strategic marketing. Prior to joining GE Capital in 1997, Garrigues was a foreign trade officer for the US & Foreign Commercial Service in Paris. She also operated her own firm called The English Connection.
