Coleman begins National Get Outside Day promotion
By Adnews Staff
Outdoor equipment company Coleman Canada has begun a promotion called "National Get Outside Day," which will take place on July 15. The campaign encourages consumers to participate outdoor activities. The initiative includes an online video, a website at <http://www.getoutsidecanada.com>, as well as social media activities suggesting ways to enjoy time outside, such as camping, cooking, fishing and water sports. Consumers are also invited to sign a petition urging the Canadian government to declare the third Friday in July an annual National Get Outside Day.
"As Canadians, we're proud to call this beautiful country home, but it's unfortunate that so many of us are unable to find the time to get outside and enjoy what Canada has to offer," said Ezio Sbrizzi, president of Coleman Canada. "As Canada's leading outdoor company, we needed to do something about it, which is why we started the 'Get Outside' campaign. Now more than ever we remain committed to the cause, rallying the Canadian government to allow all of us more time to enjoy our country's great outdoors. We know that's a long shot for this year, but our entire team at Coleman will be taking July 15 off to recognize and celebrate Get Outside Day at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville, ON. We encourage all Canadians to get outside that day to support the cause."
Coleman is a subsidiary of the Jarden Corporation.
