Family Channel readies Backstage tour promotion

Toronto-based Family Channel is preparing a promotion for its series Backstage called "The Backstage Studio Pop-Up Tour." The national promotion will feature an installation recreating settings from the show and incorporating interactive stations on the themes of dance, music and fashion. The promotion will also include live musical performances by cast members from the show. The installation will travel between participating shopping malls in Vancouver, Edmonton, Fredericton and Mississauga between May 28 and the end of June.

"Family Channel is committed to bringing high-quality, one-of-a-kind events to fans across the country, which can be seen by the tremendous success we've had over the past five years with our Big Ticket Summer Concert series, mall tours and international stage tours," said Paul Cormack, vice-president of marketing at Family Channel parent company DHX Television. "Giving fans the opportunity to interact with our stars is just as important to our stars as it is to our fans, and we couldn't be more excited to bring this incredibly talented group of singers and dancers to five shopping malls across Canada."
