Johnsonville Sausage begins Chopped Canada campaign
By Adnews Staff
Johnsonville Sausage has begun a promotion in association with Food Network Canada tied to the show Chopped Canada. The promotion includes a one-year agreement with chef and television personality Mark McEwan. Three television commercials will run nationally during episodes of the show. The ads depict McEwan preparing three dishes incorporating Johnsonville sausages. The recipes will be posted online at <http://www.johnsonville.ca>, along with longer videos detailing their preparation.
The initiative also includes a contest component at <http://www.foodnetwork.ca/johnsonville> that invites consumers to submit their own recipe ideas. The winner will receive a three-day trip to Toronto, including a meal hosted by McEwan at his restaurant Bymark.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Food Network Canada celebrity chef Mark McEwan, a true luminary in Canada's culinary scene," said Bob Fitzgerald, director of international business at Johnsonville Sausage. "With his creative talent, he is the perfect person to demonstrate how Johnsonville sausages are a great ingredient for sparking Canadians' creativity in the kitchen."
The campaign, which will run until April 10, also includes digital advertising and social media activities. It was developed by Cramer-Krasselt of Milwaukee and Matchstick of Toronto. Food Network Canada is a property of Shaw Media.
