Ikea Canada breaks new campaign

Furniture retail chain Ikea Canada has begun a new advertising campaign called "It Starts with the Food." According to the company, the campaign is intended to "celebrate everyday life in and around the kitchen." It promotes the chain's line of kitchen furniture, appliances, cookware, tableware and accessories. The effort includes a new television commercial called "Nonna Part II," which follows-on from an ad that first aired in early 2014. That ad was developed by Leo Burnett of Toronto.

"When we began discussing how to bring the theme 'It Starts with the Food' to life, we wanted to deliver a strong message of quality and function when it comes to life in and around the kitchen," said Stefan Sjöstrand, president of Ikea Canada. "Not only is our Nonna character loved by Canadians, she is synonymous with both food and quality, and of course putting our kitchens to the test."
