Bridgestone begins Official Tire of Great Stops campaign

Mississauga-based tire company Bridgestone Canada has begun a new hockey-themed campaign called "The Official Tire of Great Stops." The initiative invites amateur goalies to submit videos via social media of themselves stopping shots in a hockey game. Through Bridgestone's sponsorship of the National Hockey League, a number of these videos will be displayed on at the 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1. The campaign supports the company's Blizzak line of winter tires, which are designed to assist in stopping effectively on ice. The effort is being supported with social media activities, online advertising, a website at <http://www.bridgestonegreatstops.ca> and materials at approximately 300 ice rinks.
"The campaign gives Bridgestone an opportunity to show support for hockey in a way that's meaningful for the countless parents who spend their winters driving back and forth to the rink," said Michele Amirault, brand marketing manager at Bridgestone Canada. "For us, sports sponsorship is as much about community as it is about the big game. As the campaign grows, we see countless opportunities to celebrate the sport of hockey at all levels."
