Jameson resumes filmmaking contest

Pernod Ricard has begun an international contest promotion for its Jameson Irish Whiskey brand. Called the "Jameson First Shot" contest, the initiative is open to undiscovered filmmakers in Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, India, Australia, South Africa and Russia. Until Jan. 4, 2016, consumers can enter by submitting scripts for short films at <http://www.jamesonfirstshot.com>. The winner will make their film with Trigger Street Productions and actress Maggie Gyllenhaal, then attend its premiere in Los Angeles. This is the fifth year of the promotion.
"Last year, after receiving hundreds of submissions from aspiring filmmakers around the world, a Canadian winner's treatment stood out as one of the strongest," said Taryn Denman, brand manager for Jameson Irish Whiskey. "With the deep talent pool in our country, we hope we can change the life of another Canadian winner in 2016."
