Microsoft begins small business video campaign

Microsoft Canada has begun a promotional campaign called "Microsoft Saves You Money," aimed primarily at small and medium-sized businesses. The effort is intended to depict the ways in which the company's software can reduce business costs. It consists of a series of online videos featuring technology writer Marc Saltzman, covering topics such as email, servers and security. The five episodes a have been posted to a campaign website at <>. The site also contains text articles and related resources for each video.

"Research tells us that many of Canada's one million-plus small and medium-sized businesses struggle with the role of technology in their business, often sticking with outdated solutions to avoid the perceived cost of upgrading," said Sue Borden, SMB customer marketing lead at Microsoft Canada. "Our campaign shares practical and cost-effective best practices to help growing businesses unlock their potential with the cloud. We've tried to demystify some of the tech concepts and avoid the jargon in favour of a straight-forward, friendly and useful approach. That's why we worked with Marc. He's all about translating the geek speak into street speak."
