TVA Publications to discontinue six magazines

TVA Publications of Montreal has announced plans to cease publication of six titles as part of a brand consolidation initiative. The affected publications are 150 plans, Animal, Décormag, Le Lundi, Moi&cie and Signé M. According to the company, the closures will allow it to concentrate on its strongest brands and address issues of market saturation.
"The Canadian magazine industry is changing rapidly," said Lucie Dumas, vice-president and publisher of the magazines group at TVA. "It should be noted that we will maintain a strong presence in every segment, fashion, home decor, cooking, entertainment, etcetera, in order to continue meeting the needs of our loyal readers and advertisers."
Other TVA Publications magazine include 7 Jours, La Semaine, TV Hebdo, Chez Soi, Coup de pouce, Les idées de ma maison, Canadian Living, Elle Canada, Elle Québec, Clin d'œil, Canadian Gardening, Style at Home and The Hockey News, among others. TVA Group is a subsidiary of Quebecor Media.
