Zoom Media rebrands

Zoom Media Group has rebranded its Canadian division as Zoom Active Lifestyle Marketing. The change is intended to reflect the company's new focus on out-of-home advertising in gyms and fitness centres. In Quebec the company will be called Zoom Marketing Actif.

In June, Zoom Media acquired Newad's inventory of fitness centre displays in exchange for its own collection of ad faces in restaurants, bars, fashion retailers, office buildings, medical waiting rooms and golf centres. Zoom now operates approximate 1,500 screens in fitness locations, delivering 15 million impressions per month.

"Zoom is committed to enabling brands to reach the active lifestyle consumer at a point of passion, where they are and where they want to be," said Thomas Link, the company's senior executive vice-president of sales and marketing. "We are confident we are the only media company that has that undeniable access to this highly engaged and receptive consumer, and our mission in 2015 is to continue to demonstrate our efficacy to advertisers."

In related news, Zoom has promoted Fiona Donahue Paylor to the position of vice-president of operations. She was previous general manager of operations and services. Chris Corvetti has joined the company as vice-president of sales and marketing. He has previously worked at Cineplex Media, Mindshare and PHD Canada.
