Volkswagen begins Goodbye 2015 campaign

Automaker Volkswagen Canada has begun an advertising campaign promoting its annual Volkfest Clearance Event. The campaign, developed by DDB Canada of Montreal, includes a 30-second television and online video pre-roll commercial that depicts Volkswagen engineers saying goodbye to their 2015 models. The effort also makes use of digital, radio, print and point-of-sale advertising. The campaign promotes the features of the company's Golf, Jetta, Passat and Tiguan vehicles. It will run in English and French until the end of the sales promotion on Nov. 2.

"Saying goodbye is never easy, and the 2015 Volkwagen models are exceptional, so it's even harder to say goodbye to them," said Etienne Bastien, creative director of DDB Montreal. "The campaign for Volkfest goes beyond a bottom line approach by cleverly tapping into the desirability of a Volkswagen beyond simply a low price."
