CBC News, Weather Network form agreement

CBC News has formed a content sharing agreement with The Weather Network. Beginning on Dec. 8, the national weather forecasts on some CBC News television properties will be provided by The Weather Network. The Weather Network will provide weather updates on CBC News Network throughout the day and at the end of episodes of The National, as well as expanded weather reports on CBC Toronto on weekends and reports to CBC News Express broadcasts in eight Canadian airports. At the same time, The Weather Network will gain access to CBC News weather-related stories, analysis and video content to use on its properties.
"CBC is always finding ways to deliver content to Canadians in more innovative and efficient ways, and this new partnership with The Weather Network is a reflection of that," said Neil McEneaney, chief business officer at CBC English Services.
The Weather Network is a subsidiary of Pelmorex Media.
