Kanetix begins distracted driving campaign

Insurance comparison website Kanetix.ca has begun a social media campaign called "Distracted To Death." The campaign encourages consumers to visit a website at <http://www.distractedtodeath.com> and pledge not to drive while distracted. For each pledge, the company will donate one dollar to Teens Learn To Drive, a non-profit organization that works to reduce deaths and injuries from traffic accidents involving young drivers.
"At the end of the day, our goal is to continually educate drivers on safe driving practices," said Janine White, vice-president of marketplaces at Kanetix. "Distracted driving is one of the most dangerous driving behaviours we have on our roads today and we feel that raising awareness on this issue will save lives. Driving on its own is complicated enough, and distractions layer in a whole new level of complexity, making the roads less safe for everyone."
